    Add your keyword

Optional: the term your audience types into YouTube search.

  3. 3

Pick the language and click Generate titles (or Ctrl + Enter).

  4. 4

    Pick and copy

Compare titles by length, copy the description and tags and paste them into YouTube Studio.

Tips for better results

  • Title and thumbnail work together

Do not repeat the title text on the thumbnail: use the image to complete the promise.

  • Keyword in the first characters

Long titles get cut off on phones. The beginning has to say what the video is about.

  • Nail the first two lines of the description

They are what shows before "more". Put your summary and keyword there.

  • Go easy on hashtags

YouTube shows up to 3 hashtags above the title and ignores all of them if a video has more than 60.

  • Test and swap

If the video does not take off in the first days, swap in another title from the list and compare.

Frequently asked questions

How many characters can a YouTube title have?

Up to 100 characters. Long titles get cut off on most screens, though, so the generator aims for 70 characters or fewer and shows the length of each option.

How long can the video description be?

YouTube allows up to 5,000 characters. The first two lines matter most, because they show before the "more" link.

Do tags still matter on YouTube?

Not much. YouTube itself says tags play a minimal role in discovery and help mainly when your topic is often misspelled. Title, thumbnail and description weigh far more.

How many hashtags should I use?

Three is usually enough: YouTube shows the first 3 above the title. With more than 60, it ignores all of them.

Can I generate titles in other languages?

Yes. Pick one of the 18 output languages, even if your description is in English.

Is it really free?

Yes, with no sign-up. The limit is 12 generations every 10 minutes per connection.
